AI Policy

What We Promise

The Transpositions editorial team is committed to originality and excellence in the editorial process. We will never use Gen AI to ideate, draft, or edit content.

What We Ask

Likewise, work submitted to Transpositions must be entirely original and authored by you. Writers are not permitted to use Generative AI (Gen AI) to undertake primary authorial responsibilities, such as generating arguments, analysis, or insights, or drawing conclusions. This includes the use of tools and programs that use Gen AI to improve your writing. We will reject any work if we suspect Gen AI has been used to help develop or edit the prose.

If your piece concerns Gen AI, and the use of AI-generated content (images or text) is justified as part of your argument and/or analysis, authors must clearly indicate where AI-generated content is being used to illustrate a point.

This policy is in keeping with the standards of many journals whose work and integrity we admire, and should not come as a surprise to our readers.

Given that the world of Gen AI is fast paced and ever changing, this page will be updated as necessary.
