Blythe Kingcroft (Editor in Chief) is a PhD candidate at the University of St Andrews in the Institute for Theology, Imagination, and the Arts. With a background in English (MA, McGill University) and Theology (MA, Regent College), her doctoral research focuses on representations of enchanted homes in the literature of British author Susanna Clarke. More broadly, she is interested in sacramental theology, (dis-/re-) enchantment studies, and the theological dimensions of literature. As an essayist, her work has been published in EcoTheo Review, Ruminate, Driftwood, and Collected Magazine. 

Christina Eickenroht (Editor) is a PhD candidate in the Institute for Theology, Imagination, and the Arts at the University of St Andrews, under the supervision of Professor Judith Wolfe. She holds a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Christianity and the Arts from Regent College, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Literature, Theology, and Art History from Georgetown University. Her current research centers on paradox and eschatology in the novels of Frederick Buechner. Beyond her academic pursuits, Christina loves Anglican liturgy, hospitality, gardening, trail running, functional fitness, cups of tea, and children’s books. 

Ellie DuHadway Goings (Editor) is a PhD candidate at the Institute for Theology, Imagination, and the Arts at the University of St Andrews. Her doctoral research focuses on Lilias Trotter’s artwork and use of parable as an expansion to the Victorian Evangelical imagination. She holds an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from Christopher Newport University and a master’s degree in Art History from George Washington University. Her writing has been published in Plough and the Newman Studies Journal. Aside from research, she is an avid hiker, and loves watercolour painting, film photography, and hosting hobbit feasts.

Ian P. DeGroot (Editor) is a current MLitt student and upcoming PhD student in Theology and the Arts from the University of St Andrews. His primary area of interest is understanding what encourages human flourishing in the modern West through narrative, theology, and philosophy. He writes on themes of motivation, individualism, particularity, and the effects of hermeneutics in the Victorian novel and contemporary film. He thoroughly enjoys learning and has earned a BS in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M University, an MA in English Literature from Durham University. Ian is an avid reader, a persistent chess player, and an enthusiastic climber (of both rocks and hills).

Dr Gavin Hopps (ex officio Editor) is Professor of Literature and Theology, and Director of the Institute for Theology, Imagination and the Arts at the University of St Andrews. He has been involved in ITIA since he came to St Andrews as an RCUK Academic Fellow in 2006. Prior to this, he was a Lecturer in English at the universities of Aachen, Oxford and Canterbury Christ Church, and a CRASSH Visiting Fellow at the University of Cambridge. His research is broadly concerned with theology and the arts, with a particular focus on Romantic literature and contemporary British popular music, though he is also interested in the relationship between theology and modalities of lightness (such as comedy, camp, levity and play). He has published a monograph on Romantic writing (Enchantment in Romantic Literature, 2026), a co-authored monograph with David Brown (The Extravagance of Music, 2018) and a monograph on the singer-songwriter Morrissey. He is the co-editor, with Professor Jane Stabler, of a new edition of the complete poetic works of Byron, the first two volumes of which were published in 2025. He is currently working on a collection of essays on Romanticism and ecotheology, and a monograph on the levity of Byron’s Don Juan.
